# Scheduled chats: set the task once, come back to the results

> You don’t need to re-enter the same instructions for a morning transaction briefing or regular legal research. Save your instructions and choose a time. Praktik starts a new chat that you can continue working in.

## A morning briefing without repeating yourself

Every morning, you need to know which transaction documents are missing and what to discuss with the client. You open the project and give Praktik almost the same instructions as yesterday. Weekly legal research follows a similar pattern.

With scheduled chats, you save your instructions and choose when they should run. At that time, Praktik starts a new chat in the project. You can read the result, ask follow-up questions or request a more detailed explanation.

Leave enough time before a meeting. The time in the calendar is when work starts, not a promised completion time.

## What a week might look like

*Morning briefings, legal research and one-off meeting preparation in a single calendar across projects.*

### Atlas acquisition: what to discuss with the client today

Schedule a summary of open due diligence questions for 8:30 every weekday. Which documents are missing? What needs checking before the meeting? On Tuesday, you could also run a separate task to prepare questions for the client, with a one-off checklist before closing.

In the morning, you no longer need to write the instructions. In the resulting chat, you can focus on a specific risk or ask Praktik to expand on the questions. The briefing will draw on the documents and sources available to Praktik.

### Employment law: regular input for HR

On Monday, have Praktik research employment law developments. On Wednesday, you might ask for a summary of provisions in your template contracts that you want to review. Each task has its own timing and instructions.

For legal developments, ask for the source and effective date. For contracts, select the documents Praktik should use. You get material to review, not confirmation that a contract complies with every legal requirement.

### Compliance and GDPR: material for regular reviews

An ongoing list of missing information can help with GDPR documentation. It could be prepared twice a week, while you schedule a broader compliance overview for a particular day of the month.

In each task, specify what Praktik should look for. You then assess the findings and decide what to address first.

### Meridian dispute: preparing for a hearing

Before a hearing, schedule a one-off working outline based on the case file. In a longer-running dispute, regular case law research or a Friday summary of open questions may also help.

For dates and procedural deadlines, always ask for a reference to the specific supporting document. A scheduled chat does not replace reviewing the case file or reliable deadline tracking.

## How to schedule your first chat

*Brief instructions with a selected project document, Slovak jurisdiction and a run scheduled for 8:30 every weekday.*

Create a new automation in the calendar and select a project. Give the task a name you will recognise a week later without opening its details, such as “Morning transaction briefing”.

Then describe what you need. Select documents or folders, set the jurisdiction and choose your sources. If you want Praktik to search the web, enable it in the settings.

Finally, choose a time. You can run the chat once, every day, on weekdays, on selected days of the week or on a specific day of the month. Save the settings.

It helps to include what Praktik should do if something is missing:

> Prepare a morning briefing on the Atlas transaction using the selected documents. List open due diligence questions and risks for today’s meeting. Include a source for each finding. If any document is missing, say which one. Finish by suggesting priorities for today.

This tells Praktik both what to look for and how to present the result. Check the selected documents before saving.

## An overview across projects

The weekly calendar shows when chats are due to start. If you prefer a list, switch to the agenda view. The **Automations** tab shows saved tasks and their status. You can narrow the view to a single project.

*All saved tasks, with their project, recurrence and status, in one place.*

Click a future occurrence to open the task. You can find the resulting chats in your history; for a running or completed occurrence, you can also open them directly from the calendar. You then continue in the chat as usual.

When work on the project changes, update the task or pause it for a while. You can reactivate it later. **Run now** is useful when you need a briefing outside the schedule. It works for a saved, active task that does not already have a pending or running execution. If you delete a task, its previous chats remain available.

The calendar shows your own tasks in projects you can access. It is not a shared calendar for the firm, and project membership alone does not give you access to other people’s scheduled chats or their results.

## You can also ask to schedule a task in chat

In a project chat, you can simply write: “Every Monday at 10:00, prepare an overview of employment law developments for this project.” Praktik can look at your existing tasks, their settings and their history.

It presents a new task for your approval before creating it. Once it has created the task, it remembers your approval to edit that particular task within the same chat. You can ask it to move the time or pause the task, for example. A different task requires separate approval, and approval does not carry over to other chats. Deletion always requires fresh approval.

## Before the first run

During an automatic run, Praktik cannot ask you follow-up questions. Provide the context in advance. It will not enable web search or grant itself additional permissions, and it will not take a step that requires new approval.

Check the results and citations just as you would in a regular chat. A schedule does not guarantee that a source will be available or include the latest change. The usual access and credit usage rules still apply.

If you do not see scheduled chats in your account yet, the feature may not have been enabled for you.

Start with one task you assign repeatedly. Save the instructions, attach the supporting documents and set the next run. Then review the resulting chat and adjust the instructions as needed.
