Documents in Chat
Praktik draws from an extensive range of official sources — learn more in the Data Sources section. However, you often need to work with your own documents — contracts, files, internal guidelines. Uploading documents allows Praktik to incorporate their content into context and cite from them.
Supported Formats
Section titled “Supported Formats”- PDF — contracts, decisions, files
- DOCX — Microsoft Word documents
If you have a different format, convert it to PDF or DOCX.
Working with Documents in Chat
Section titled “Working with Documents in Chat”1. Opening the Documents Dialog
Section titled “1. Opening the Documents Dialog”In the chat input, click on the books icon. A dialog will open showing all the documents you have uploaded so far.
2. Selecting or Uploading Documents
Section titled “2. Selecting or Uploading Documents”In the dialog, you can:
- Select existing documents — individual files or entire folders
- Combine selections — you can select multiple documents, folders, or a mix of both
- Upload new documents — click the “Upload” button and select files from your computer
After selection, click “Select”. The selected documents/folders will be used in the conversation.
3. Sending a Message with Documents
Section titled “3. Sending a Message with Documents”Enter your question and send the message. Praktik will analyze your query along with the selected documents or folders and respond with references to specific sections.
Size limit: The maximum document size is 50 MB.
Document References
Section titled “Document References”Document references work the same way as references to other source data. There are two types:
Document reference: You see the document name and a generated document description.
Document section reference: You see the document name and a specific excerpt from the document that was cited.
Clicking on a reference: Opens the document detail and automatically scrolls to the specific section that was used.
Security
Section titled “Security”Data is stored on servers in the EU and processed entirely within the EU. It is encrypted both in transit and at rest. It is not publicly accessible and is never used for training models.
