Tabular Review lets you analyze hundreds of documents against the questions that matter for your work. Instead of opening files one by one and copying findings into a spreadsheet, bring the documents into one shared matrix. Results arrive fast and progressively, so you can start reviewing while the rest of the table is still being completed.
Tabular Review is useful for due diligence, compliance checks, contract portfolios, insurance reviews, and any other matter where the same questions need to be answered across many documents. It reduces administrative work and leaves more time for legal assessment.
One table for a whole matter
Each row represents a source document. Columns give the matter a consistent structure that can be filtered, compared, reviewed, and shared with the team. A table normally contains three practical groups of columns:
- Source and document identification — columns that organize the source context, such as the document name, parties, or other identifying details.
- AI extraction — columns driven by your matter-specific questions in natural language. Ask what you need to know, and Tabular Review extracts an answer for each document.
- Review and workflow — columns or states used to coordinate verification, flags, and progress.
You mainly create and customize the AI extraction columns. The source and review groups provide context around those answers, helping the team understand what is being reviewed and what still needs attention.
Ask any matter-specific question
Create a column by writing the question you want answered. Questions can be as focused as “Is termination for convenience permitted?” or as broad as the criteria in a due diligence checklist. Tabular Review applies the same question across the selected documents, making results comparable without turning your checklist into manual searches.

Fast results with immediate source verification
Tabular Review works progressively. As answers are generated, you can inspect them instead of waiting for a batch to finish. Every cell can lead to the relevant passage in the source document and open it in the document viewer. Verify an answer immediately, see the context around it, and decide how it matters to the matter.
For each cell, you can:
- open the source passage and view it in the document viewer;
- mark the result as verified;
- add a flag when something needs attention;
- make a manual edit when the working result needs correction or clarification; and
- regenerate the answer when you want to run the question again.
The cell history preserves traceability between generated and revised results, so the team can understand how a result changed without relying on an untracked spreadsheet edit.
Reusable team templates
Save a table configuration as a team template for recurring work. Templates can be reused for a familiar document type, then customized for the next matter: adjust the questions, output formats, and review context instead of starting from an empty table. Shared templates help teams apply a consistent approach while leaving room for matter-specific criteria.
Review together and track progress
Tabular Review is built for team review. Add reviewers, divide the verification work, and see which cells have already been checked. Verified cells and flags make the status of the work visible, while filtering helps you focus on unverified results, flagged answers, a particular reviewer, or a selected document set. Progress is easier to follow because the review state stays with the matrix rather than in a separate tracker.
The generated answers support professional judgment; they do not replace it. Reviewers verify the source and the legal team remains responsible for the assessment.
Work with documents and files
Attach common business files through Documents, including Word documents, PDFs, images, presentations, spreadsheets, HTML, and plain-text files. PDF and Word files are standard formats for document review; extraction and viewer behavior depend on the format, so not every format is processed identically. If a file first needs transformation or a specific output, Praktik Worker can work with the supplied files and prepare the result for review.
Export and ask questions across the matrix
Export the table as CSV or XLSX for further work. Source links remain available where they are included in the export, so exported results can still point reviewers back to the underlying documents.
