Praktik in Word helps with research, business-register checks, wording suggestions, and work on the current document. Answers and document changes behave differently, so always confirm what will happen before writing to the document.
Opening the assistant
Open the Praktik Word add-in. At the bottom of the panel, select Actions, then open Writing Assistance.
Chat opens in a panel next to your document. You can ask a question, request an explanation, or prepare text for review before using it.
Research while writing
Have a question about legislation, case law, or interpretation? Ask it directly in chat.
Praktik can find an answer in Slov-Lex, court decisions, or other sources. Open and verify source references before using them in a submission or contract.
Typical questions:
- “What is the notice period for terminating an employment contract under the Labour Code?”
- “Find Supreme Court decisions on contract termination for material breach.”
- “What does § 127 of the Civil Code say about contract invalidity?”
The answer appears in the panel. After reviewing it, you can copy a paragraph or citation into the document.
Business register
Writing a contract and need to verify the exact company name, company ID, or registered office? Enter the company name or ID in chat, then compare the returned data with what belongs in the document.
Useful information can include:
- business name and legal form,
- company and VAT IDs,
- registered office,
- statutory body,
- share capital.
Before inserting data, verify that it belongs to the correct company and current document.
Editing suggestions and Track Changes
Select text in Word and explain what you need - for example, a simpler, more formal, or differently worded sentence. Praktik can suggest revised wording or make an edit directly in the document.
You can work with a suggestion in two ways:
- Read it, adapt it if needed, and copy or insert it manually into the document.
- Let the assistant edit the document through chat. Before that edit, the add-in turns on Track Changes, so you can accept or reject the revision in Word.
A chat answer by itself does not change the document. Manual copying and pasting follows Word’s Track Changes setting, not the chat setting. Always compare the original and new text, then review the result in the context of the entire contract.
Text generation
Need a new clause, paragraph, or section? Describe its purpose, parties, jurisdiction, time limits, and other material details. Praktik prepares a draft directly in chat.
Examples:
- “Write a termination clause for an employment contract with a three-month notice period.”
- “Create a confidentiality clause for an NDA between companies.”
- “Generate the introductory part of an opinion on the VAT Act.”
Read the draft, adapt it to the document context, and only then insert it. If the assistant inserts or edits text directly through chat, Track Changes is used; manual insertion follows the current Word setting.
Translating a document
For translation, use the add-in’s dedicated translation action rather than relying only on a chat response. The practical workflow is:
- Choose a target language and mode: normal translation or a two-column bilingual document.
- Set Use Track Changes if you want to review the applied translation as revisions.
- Let Praktik analyze the document, then review or edit the suggested terminology mappings.
- Start the translation and inspect the preview of original and translated text.
- Select Apply all only after review.
The preview does not change the document. The Track Changes option is applied only when the translation is written to the document; it does not guarantee tracked changes for ordinary copying, chat answers, or contract-review suggestions. Two-column mode creates a bilingual view from which you can keep the original, the translation, or both.
Document context
Praktik can see the open document and use context relevant to your question. You should still verify that its findings are complete and appropriate for the specific matter.
Example:
- You are drafting a purchase agreement and want to know whether it includes all essential elements.
- You ask: “Check whether this purchase agreement has all legal requirements.”
- Praktik can flag points that need assessment; verify the result against the applicable law and the contract.
Why it works
Praktik combines research, register information, and document work in one panel. Use results as working material, verify sources, and decide which text belongs in the final version.
