Documents
Every contract you need to review. Every file you need to prepare. Every document you must analyze. Praktik allows you to upload your own documents and work with them across the entire application — from analysis in chat to contract review.
What are documents in Praktik
Section titled “What are documents in Praktik”Documents can be:
- PDF files — digital or scanned
- Word documents (.docx, .doc)
They don’t have to be digital documents. If you have a scanned contract, upload it and Praktik will extract the text automatically. After uploading, documents are available to your team, linked with the business register, searchable and usable in chat, contract review, due diligence and in the Word add-in.
Document interface
Section titled “Document interface”Each document has its own detail page with several sections:
1. Text and PDF preview
Section titled “1. Text and PDF preview”You can read the document directly in Praktik — either as text or in the original PDF format with formatting preserved.
2. Extracted contract parties
Section titled “2. Extracted contract parties”Praktik identifies contract parties in the document automatically. You see the name and registration number if they are Slovak companies.
3. Business register connection
Section titled “3. Business register connection”For each contract party, you can view details from the business register — current data, directors, statutory representatives and history of changes.
4. Document description
Section titled “4. Document description”Praktik automatically generates a document description based on its content. You can see what it’s about without having to read the entire document.
5. Chat with document
Section titled “5. Chat with document”Directly from the document detail, you can start a conversation that concerns only this document. All questions are answered exclusively with the context of this document — no other sources are used. References work the same as in standard chat and point to specific parts of the document.
Uploading documents
Section titled “Uploading documents”Where to upload documents
Section titled “Where to upload documents”In the main menu, go to the Documents section. You’ll see a list of all uploaded documents, folders and the option to upload new files.
One or multiple documents
Section titled “One or multiple documents”Click “Upload” and select files from your computer. You can upload:
- One document — for quick upload of a single file
- Multiple documents at once — select multiple files simultaneously
There’s no need to upload documents one by one. Select all the ones you need and the system will process them.
Document processing
Section titled “Document processing”After uploading, Praktik processes each document:
- Text is extracted — including scanned PDFs
- Content is indexed — for fast searching
- Contract parties are identified — automatically
- Document is ready to use — in all parts of the application
You can see the processing status for each document. When processing is complete, the document is immediately usable.
Size limit: Maximum document size is 50 MB.
Managing documents
Section titled “Managing documents”Folders
Section titled “Folders”Create a folder, name it and move documents where you need them. Folders work like classic file folders — you can organize documents by client, contract type, project or any other criteria.
Moving documents
Section titled “Moving documents”You can move documents between folders with drag & drop — grab the document and drag it to the target folder. It works the same for one document or several at once.
You can also:
- Move a document from one folder to another — drag it to the new folder
- Move a document to the root level — drag it outside all folders
- Move multiple documents at once — select multiple documents and drag them together
Using folders in chat
Section titled “Using folders in chat”Folders can be used directly in chat. Instead of selecting individual documents, you select the entire folder — all documents in it will be part of the conversation context.
Security
Section titled “Security”Documents are encrypted during transfer and storage. They are processed and stored exclusively within the EU. They are not publicly available and are never used to train models.
Using documents in the application
Section titled “Using documents in the application”Uploaded documents work across the entire application. There’s no need to upload them multiple times — once uploaded, they are available everywhere.
Chat with documents
Section titled “Chat with documents”Select documents or folders directly in chat and ask a question. Praktik analyzes your query along with the selected documents and responds with references to specific parts.
Contract review
Section titled “Contract review”Automated contract review with hierarchical rules and suggested modifications. Upload a contract, select the type of review and get results with links to specific sections of the document.
Due Diligence
Section titled “Due Diligence”Processing dozens to hundreds of documents at once. Extraction of structured data into a clear table. Each extracted data point links back to the source in the original document.
Word add-in
Section titled “Word add-in”Legal research, document analysis and contract review directly in Word. Documents uploaded in Praktik are available in the Word add-in too — no switching between windows.
Less manual searching in documents. More time for work that clients actually pay for.
