Document Drafting
Praktik in Word works the same way as the web chat — it searches legislation, case law, verifies companies in the business register, and suggests text edits. You don’t need to switch between tools.
How to open the assistant
Section titled “How to open the assistant”Open the Praktik Word add-in. At the bottom of the panel, click Actions, then select Translation.
The chat interface will open directly in the panel next to your document. You type a question, Praktik responds with an exact source.
Research while writing
Section titled “Research while writing”Have a question about legislation, case law, or interpretation? Type it directly into the chat.
Praktik will find the answer in Slov-Lex, Supreme Court decisions, or Constitutional Court decisions. Each answer includes an exact reference to the source — click and verify it.
Typical questions:
- “What is the notice period for terminating an employment contract under the Labour Code?”
- “Find Supreme Court decisions on contract termination for material breach.”
- “What does § 127 of the Civil Code say about contract invalidity?”
The answer will appear in the panel. You can copy and paste the exact paragraph or citation directly into your document.
Business register
Section titled “Business register”Writing a contract and need to verify the exact company name, ID number, or registered office? Praktik accesses the business register directly.
Type the company name or ID number and get current data:
- Business name
- Legal form
- ID number, VAT number
- Registered office
- Statutory body
- Share capital
Copy the data and paste it into the contract — accurate, verified, without manual searching.
Editing suggestions
Section titled “Editing suggestions”Select text in Word and ask Praktik to improve it, simplify it, formalize it, or rewrite it differently.
How it works:
- Select text in the document
- Type what you need in the chat — e.g., “Simplify this sentence for the client” or “Rewrite more formally”
- Praktik suggests an edit
- Compare the original text with the suggestion
- Copy the suggestion and replace the original text, or modify it as needed
The edit is always just a suggestion — you maintain control and make the final decision.
Text generation
Section titled “Text generation”Need to write a new clause, paragraph, or entire document section? Describe what you need, and Praktik will generate it.
Examples:
- “Write a termination clause for an employment contract with a three-month notice period.”
- “Create a confidentiality clause for an NDA between companies.”
- “Generate the introductory part of an opinion on the VAT Act.”
Praktik will generate the text directly in the chat. Read it, adapt it to the context of your document, and copy it where you need it.
You always control the result. Praktik prepares the text, you determine the final version.
Translation
Section titled “Translation”Select text in Word and ask Praktik for a translation.
Supported languages include Slovak, Czech, English, German, and other European languages. Translation preserves legal terminology and sentence structure.
How to translate:
- Select text in the document
- Type in the chat — e.g., “Translate to English” or “Prelož do slovenčiny”
- Praktik returns the translation
- Review it and insert it into the document
You can translate individual sentences, paragraphs, or entire sections. For translating a whole document, it’s faster to use multiple requests in parts.
Document context
Section titled “Document context”Praktik can see the content of your open document. It can read the context and suggest solutions directly related to what you’re writing.
Example:
- You’re writing a purchase agreement and want to know if you’ve included all essential elements according to the Commercial Code.
- You type: “Check if this purchase agreement has all the legal requirements.”
- Praktik reads the document, compares it with legal requirements, and points out missing items.
The assistant doesn’t make automatic edits — it only alerts and suggests. The decision on what to add or change is always yours.
What Praktik doesn’t do
Section titled “What Praktik doesn’t do”It doesn’t take control. You review and approve every text, every edit, every answer. Praktik prepares the materials, you make the decisions.
It doesn’t replace a lawyer. Generated texts are suggestions, not final versions. They always require review and adaptation to your specific case.
It doesn’t save chat history to the document. Chat is for research and text preparation. What goes into the document, you insert manually — you have full control.
Why it works
Section titled “Why it works”Praktik is not an isolated text editing tool. It’s the same assistant you have in the browser — legislation, case law, business register, all in one place. In Word, you have it next to the document you’re editing.
Less switching between windows. More time for the work you get paid for.
